The state of the highways in Nigeria are currently in very bad shape and death cases due to bad roads , highways and city Roads are in the increase.. The economic setback of this causality is a depreciating output in the net GDP of the Country ! The import of this in the context of foreign investment attraction into the country is also negative and other African Countries will become more favored in the aspect as first investment destination country for highly invaluable foreign investment that is germane to our future becoming.
In 1995/96 My honorable self was called to serve the Nation by the Government of General Sanni Abacha in the context of designing a formula for a long lasting panacuea to the situation of road failures and maintenance of the Nigerian Roads and highway on a permanent Basis.. The R& D was done by my company INMONT LIMITED- A Russian Nigerian International Joint Venture Company and the Thesis was forwarded to the Nigeria Government in joint partnership with the Airforce Logistics and Training Command then headed by Air Commoder Ajibulu Sulaimon , Ever since the Government of Gen Sanni Abacha was on the verge of implementing it but later taken over by events and that of President Olusegun Obasanjo tried one or two concepts in the report by Eng. Ogunlewe who was the Works Minister...The Report solved all the question of funding the Road Construction and mentasinance of the Nigerian Highways by the introduction of the PPP-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP PARTICIPATION and the franchise of Highways as well as airports to Private individuals and much more were the ideas of our company sold to the Nigerian Government with a view that INMONT LIMITED will be an active perticipant in the PPP ON A NATIONAL TORNKEY PROJECT OF WHAT IS CALLED IN RUSSIA AS "KRUPHUOE RAZVITIE NARODHOE STRUCTURAX"= But unfortunately we were not invited to the bidding as and the Govt of OBJ decided to segment the concepts and gave the Airport tom Dr Wale Babalakin and other concessionaires like the Lagos Ibadan Road etc... we should be wary if the professionalism is mortgaged in this regards as we did not really gave all the professional nitty gritty involved in such torn key project to the Govt.. and that was why most of the Banks that lend money for the PPP went distressed because the concepts has booty traps which are not readily obvious to the investors ...and most of the investors may come to debt , ruin and grief, not because they have not tried their best but because the concept was developed by INMONT LIMITED based on certain professional premises which are oblivious to those buying into the project..
THE NEW DISPENSATION OF PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN& NATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT: With the emergence of H.E. President Goodluck Jonathan and his honest approach to issues of National Development it becomes imminent to open up to him about the realities on the ground and perhaps tacitly come out to contribute our quota to the issues of National Development at this exigent , though really we reserve this R& D for the Government of SDMP- and would only be implemented when we come to power , but seeing the genuine aspect of H.E. President Goodluck Jonathan we may be considering changing this view of non participation in his GOVT by our SDMP party and assist him and the generality of the Nigerian Nation and sovereignty in solving this great problem of Highway failure, failure of city roads, drainage, channelization, erosion, flood etc that has claimed billions of naira worth of properties in recent times...
