Breaking News: 2015 Polls: INEC Edo state hold stakeholders meeting on PVC: Permanent Voters Cards; PVC to be distributed within 3 days- Nov 7th -Nov 9th- 2014;Hon. Baritor Gbagil Edo state INEC REC- Appeal to all stakeholders to mobilize Edo peoples to come out en mass to collect the PVC;the stakeholders summit in Benin-City, was attended by: INEC stalwarts, IPAC-[Inter Party Advisory Council] Chairman H.E. Prince Frank Ukonga, APC Chairman Hon Anselm Ojezua, PDP,SDP, NCP,PPN , LP ,APGA,KOWA,AA,PPA,,PDM, UPN ,UPP, CPN ,and the gentlemen of press.
In a well attended stakeholders meeting held today the 23ed of October 2014 by Edo state INEC, the Edo state INEC REC, Hon Baritor Gbagil unveiled INEC programs ahead of 2015 general elections in the state hinting that the PVC- Permanent Voters card would be distributed to all Edo state citizen from the 7th Nov to the 9th of Nov 2014 and called on all Edo state citizens to come out en mass to collect the cards. The PVC he said contains all the bio metric data of the person that is registered to vote and it cannot be issued by proxy,it cannot be forged nor can another person use it during elections as the new technology of card reader computers would be deployed during accreditation period of polls.This would totally eliminate all forms of rigging during polls. Again he said that the continuous voters registration would also commence during this period for those who have attained the age of 18 years, for those who have not registered before and also for those who have lost their cards..
The Edo State Chairman of IPAC- Inter- Party Advisory Council of Nigeria- His Excellency Prince Frank Ukonga lauding the current innovations of INEC, appealed to INEC in the stakeholders summit to extend the period from 3 days to one week of seven days for the PVC exercise but the INEC REC said extending the days would mean putting in more human and financial resources in the field in the face of paucity of resources but said that the exercise would continue as those who could not collect their cards within the 3 days can still do so in the local govt headquarters were they registered....
The Edo state Chairman of APC Hon Anselm Ojezua lauded the commitments and innovations of INEC to conducting credible polls in Edo state of Nigeria and hinted that some persons are alleged planning to buy out the PVC from the voters in areas of perceived disadvantaged to the persons in the context of depriving popular candidates in some areas from emerging winners and warned that all voters should be aware of these hideous plots...
