It was a breat day yesterday in SDMP office Head Office Benin city when the Etsako Women came visiting on Mother's Day the 11 th of March . They were led by the SDMP Chairmanship candidate of Etsako Central LGA Mrs Sarah Amafe to the SDMP office and were warmly received by the women leader of SDMP Mrs Ruths Imodogo as well as other stalwarts of the SDMP Edo state.
His Excellency Prince Frank Ukonga thanked the women for their visit and asked them to go and keep the flag of SDMP flynig in their LGA adding that "
'Women and the Youth of Edo state forms the focus of SDMP Manifesto in particular their empowerment to become the engine of SDMP and the strength of the Edo policy thrust and that of the Nigerian Federation...addressed towards job creation, education for all, electricity for all, health for all. housing for all and much more..."

His Excellency Prince Frank Ukonga, the newly elected Chairman of SDMP recently hosted new members of SDMP from the Edo Central Senatorial district of the state. The new members were warmly received by the Secretary to SDMP Edo state Chief Saka Seidu and the Media and publicity secretary Mr. Henry Obemudia. The SDMP women leader of Edo state Mrs. Ruth Imodogo and the SDMP Youth leader Mr. Purpose Iserhienhen ware also present to grace the occasion.

Mr. Tony Aibogun the elected Chairmanship candidate of SDMP for the Igueben LGA, led the new members to the party head office in Benin while Mr. Emmanuel Akhilome led those from the Esan west and Mr. Vincent Ogonna the Vice Chairman of SDMP Edo state led those from Esan central.

 The new members were hosted and given SDMP membership cards, posters and handbills and flags, and admonished by the State Chairman His Excellency Prince Frank Ukonga to keep the good name of the great party flying at all times..The Prince continued “we are transparent and democratic in our ways of doing things at SDMP and our strategy is to open offices first in the headquarters of the three senatorial districts of the state namely – Benin( already opened and functioning,)to cater for members of the Edo South senatorial district, Ekpoma Office  to serve those from the Edo Central Senatorial District and Auchi office to serve peoples of the Edo North Senatorial districts for now, and we also have an office in Igarra in the Edo North functioning for the Akoko Edo LGA because of its large size as the largest LGA in Nigeria.. This we hope will do for now and as we expand we shall situate offices in all the Local Government Headquarters of the state..Please keep the good name and goodwill of our great party flying at all times…” He concluded

SDMP South -South Zone Host His Excellency Prince Frank Ukonga the Newly Elected SDMP Chairman Edo State in Port-Hacourt, Rivers State of Nigeria.

His Excellency Prince Frank Ukonga, the newly Elected Edo State Chairman of SDMP was recently hosted in Port-harcourt by the South- South Zone of SDMP. The Chief Host was the River State governorship candidate of SDMP in the 2011 gubernatorial polls His Excellency Engr Orlu Jushua. Present in the event was SDMP stalwart Mr. Elder Ogonna and other dignitaries of SDMP from the South -South Zone.

After the hosting a closed door meeting was held on how to firmly anchor SDMP in the South -South Zone as a party that will win both the governorship and many seats in the state Houses of Assemblies as well as the Federal House of Representative and the Upper House of Senate in 2015 general elections. A policy thrust of accelerated membership drive and making bridges to other political parties of like minds in the case of alliances were espoused.

Prince Frank Ukonga thanked His Excellency Engr. Orlu Joshua for his hospitality and promised that Edo State would live up to expectations in the forth coming general polls. He also intimated that SDMP is becoming popular in Edo state as a consequence of the new policy thrust of building formidable political structures as well as attracting credible and serious minded peoples into the party. “Above all our main focus is to attract the youth and women of Edo state who are the most vulnerable groups that really needs empowerment addressed to jockey Edo state and the South -South Zone to greater heights of achievements” Said His Excellency Prince Frank Ukonga.

His Excellency, Prince Frank Ukonga Hosts Governorship Candidates of the 2012 Edo gubernatorial election in SDMP Head Office in Benin City.

His Excellency Prince Frank Ukonga the newly elected Chairman of Edo SDMP who was also the SDMP governorship candidate n the Edo 2012 gubernatorial candidate adjudged the Best election in Nigerian History recently hosted other governorship contenders in the Edo 2012 polls in his Benin City SDMP Office at Second East Circular Road ,Benin City.

Among other dignitaries that attended were the CPC Governorship candidate Comrade Roland Izebuwa, the Labour Party Gubernatorial candidate Comrade Andrew Igwemoh, the NCP Governorship candidate Comrade Paul Orumwese His Excellency General Charles Airhaibvere could not attend because he was off to Lagos after hosting Prince Frank Ukonga in his residence the previous day while comrade Adams Oshiomhole was off to Maiduguri in the joint APC Merging governors’ visit to the Boko Haram victims.  His Excellency Chief Solomon Edebiri could not attend because of pressing issues he needed to attend to in PortHarcort.

Also present in the event were the Exco members of SDMP, the secretary of SDMP Edo state Chief Saka Seidu, the publicity and Media Secretary of SDMP Mr. Henry Ogbemudia,  stalwarts of the SDMP in Edo state Mr. Kinsley Avilele, etc.

After the opening prayers led by the NCP governorship candidate his Excellency Comrade Paul Orumwese; the hosting continued with refreshments and food and drinks then later the four governorship candidates in the Edo 2012 polls went in to a closed door session to discuss on the issues of the state.

The four governorship candidates were unanimous in giving comrade Adams Oshiomhole a clean bill of health in the security as well as the infrastructural development of the state and in education as well as the health and transport sectors. But other areas of job creation, attracting investments, assistance to small and medium scale enterprises needs urgent attention.

The issue of the Unity government was also discussed and a communiqué was issued as to encourage the comrade governor to carry other political parties along in his cabinet. The entire governorship candidates agreed that comrade Governor Adams Oshiomhole will make do his promise but perhaps needed some time to get his act together. The appointment of the SSG of Edo state in person of Prof. Julius Ihonvbere was lauded as well as that of the COS to the government Hon. Patrick Obahaigbon. The list of commissioner nominee’s was frown at by all the governorship candidates as it was all drawn from the ACN party members and non was from the alliance partners.

His Excellency, Prince Frank Ukonga visited the CPC Chairman of Edo State Comrade Erhagho in his Ring Road Office and was well hosted by the CPC Chairman. Present in the meeting was the CPC governorship candidate in the just concluded Edo gubernatorial polls His Excellency Comrade Roland Izebuwa and other CPC stalwarts.

Comrade Erhagho congratulated His Excellency Prince Frank Ukonga on his election victory as the new Chairman of SDMP Edo state, canvassed for continued cooperation among the allied political parties pointing the maxim that: united we stand divided we fall. He also asked for some patience with the comrade Governor in the aspects of carrying others Parties along in the governance of the state and assured every body that the governor of Edo state Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is a man of his words that at the appropriate time he would fulfill on promises.

His Excellency Prince Frank Ukonga thanked Comrade Erhagho for his hospitality and promised to work with the alliance as the SDMP have been doing its best as well to make sure the alliance continue in the state.
