The governorship candidates of the Edo 2012 guber polls of the Allied political parties of the Labour Party [ Andrew Igermoh] Paul Orumwese [NCP] Prince Frank Ukonga[SDP] rose from a meeting held in Benin on the 26th of March 2014 and condemn in strong terms the action of the Edo state government led by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole over the improper handling of the competency test of the Edo state teachers in utter disregard to a court injunction from a superior court of record in Nigeria.

The governorship candidates of the Edo 2012 guber polls of the Allied political parties of the Labour Party [ Andrew Igermoh] Paul Orumwese [NCP] Prince Frank Ukonga[SDP] rose from a meeting held in Benin on the 26^th of March 2014 and condemn in strong terms the action of the Edo state government led by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole over the improper handling of the competency test of the Edo state teachers in utter disregard to a court injunction from a superior court of record in Nigeria.

1]It noted that the comrade Adams Oshiomhole being as beneficiary of the rule of law and justice  is least expected to disregard court injunction  with impunity as evident by the continued actions of the govt as regards those teachers who obeyed the court order and did not participated in the exercise. The group further observed that despite the court injunction the Edo state govt went ahead to conduct the competency test in three locations of the state namely-University of Benin, Ambrose Ali University and the Auchi polytechnic.

2]The group condemn the deplorable conditions of the college’s of education in Edo state in the context of the sorry state of the colleges of education at Ekiadolor,Afuze, and Igueben lacking the capacity of quality training of teachers and questionable infrastructural developments and observed that the perceived abysmal performances of the Edo teachers are the consequences of neglect of the goose that lay the golden eggs which includes the five years of the present Administration of comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

3] The gubernatorial candidates of the Allied parties  also stated that the traditional and the aged long labour policies of training and retraining of workers[ in- service including teachers cannot be substituted by the comrade Adams Oshiomhole govt of do or die assessment /competency test for teachers.

4]Furthermore the group observed that the widely alleged public opinion that some of the so called unqualified teachers were recruited by some persons allegedly holding high portfolio in the current Adams Oshiomholes govt. and the group advised for a proper in-house investigation with  a view to correcting these anomalies and putting the Edo state educational programs on sound footings.
