DA Score Card,Ranking & Election Report-2017:DA Rank Among the Top Ten of 67 Political Parties in Nigeria by Overall performance Ranking in 2017:
DA was brought back to life by the Appeal Court sitting in Enugu in June 2016. but DA began effectively functioning in May 2017 when H.E. Prince Frank Ukonga was made the proterm National Chairman by the BOT with a mandate to restructure the party.
A] DA Ranking by participation in Elections and National INEC and NGO Activities: July -Dec 2017: DA is Ranked among the top 3 in terms of participation in elections and INEC/NGO Programs:
Since July 2017, DA has participated in all elections and political activities with brilliant results and may be ranked among the Top Ten political Parties out of 67 Parties in Nigeria ;in terms of participation in all elections both National and LGA polls, in terms of structures on the ground with presence in 36 states of Nigeria and some LGA and abroad, In terms of Membership strength, in terms of election results ,and in terms of growth potentials etc
B] Ranking by Election Results: DA is ranked among the top ten political parties by average election results from July -Dec 2017;
DA participated within six months of her come back- July -December 2017 in the following elections:
I] Anambra Governorship Election of November 18th 2017:
DA participated in the Anambra governorship polls and held her primaries on the 29th of August 2017 in Awka, campaigned vigorously , DA National Chairman participated in the IPAC Rally in Awka and in all stakeholders meetings that led to the successful Anambra governorship polls adjudged as one of the best election in Nigerian history. Kudos to INEC and INEC National Chairman Prof. Mahmud Yakubu.
DA came 12th position in the Anambra governorship polls of 67 registered parties with comparative impressive votes.
Ii] House of Rep By election of Wamako/Kware Federal Constituency- Sokoto State: DA participated in the Wamako / Kware Fed Constituency by election and came up with remarkable results and made 7th position of the 22 political parties that participated in the election.
Iii] Eti Osa By election of Lagos state House of Assembly: DA participated actively in the Lagos state by election of 2017 Eti Osa and made 4th position of the 9 political parties that participated in the by election.
Iv] Idemili North by election of Anambra state House of Assembly held on the 18th of Nov 2017: DA participated actively in the Idemili North House of Assembly election and came 5th of the 9 parties that participated in the election.
V] Enugu state LGA election held on Nov 4th 2017: DA participated actively fielding many candidates for councillors and Chairmanship positions in the election and made overall 4th position
Vii] Kwara state LGA Election: DA participated actively in the controversial Kwara LGA election fielding several candidates for councilorship and chairmanship and came up among the top 5 leading political parties in the Kwara LGA polls.
Akwa Ibom LGA elections: DA participated in the Akwa Ibom LGA Election despite the illegal levies slammed on candidates ranging from 50, 000 Naira for councilorship and 100,000 Naira for chairmanship- DA paid the levies and our candidates participated in the controversial Akwa Ibom election where only 12 political parties participated and DA had impressive results as being among the top 6 of the election results.
C] Ranking by structures : DA is ranked among the top 10 political parties of 67 in terms of structures on the ground as DA has state chairmen in all the 36 states of Nigeria and the FCT. DA also have a functioning National secretariat in FCT in highbrow Maitama /Wuse 2 District of Abuja with working staffs. This Ranks DA Among the top ten political parties to locate office in the best Respected locations of Abuja and FCT.
D] Ranking by Physical Structures: DA has acquired 2 plots of land donated by the National Chairman to build permanent Secretariat in FCT and works has commenced in full swing and will be completed before December 2018. We are targeting moving to our state of art National Secretariat in 2018 and will conduct the 2019 Presidential and general elections from our permanent National Secretariat. At Enugu state the out going chairman of Enugu state chapter of DA has also donated a parcel of land for building a permanent Secretariat for the Zonal Office of DA - Eastern Region. And also for the South South Zone.
Our state offices are gradually springing up and soon we shall have befitting offices in all the 36 states of Nigeria and FCT and LGA presence.
E] Ranking by Membership strength: In our Abuja secretariat we have the members list of those that joined DA in Abuja and its environs and the list has more than 20000 members. And in all the 36 state we can boast of at least 20000 members per state that means a total of above 7,200,000 members nationally which is impressive and among the top ten leading political parties by membership strength..
F] Ranking by Investments: DA is investing in publishing and has substantial investment in the stock Exchange Market. DA has some shares about 10% of African Trust Savings and Credits Limited- A Mortgage / Saving and Loans Bank donated to DA by the National Chairman of DA H.E. Prince frank Ukonga and soon African Trust shall open more offices Nationwide to assist the youth on the aspects of start-up loans, grants and on micro finance to contributing in job creation, wealth creating and the general upliftment of Nigerians and the Nigerian GDP.
G] Ranking in participation in UN/INEC Programs and other NGO Programs: DA participated actively in the UNDP/INEC Capacity building for top officers of political parties and our contribution in the workshop was remarkable as DA Officials were not bench warmer but active intellectuals. In the IRI Political Party/NGO collaboration summit at Sheraton hotel DA National Chairman contributed to shaping the outcome of the summit.
At the Youth summit organized by the Westminster Organization for capacity building of youth of political parties DA was among the 19 political parties invited for the summit. And DA youth contributed remarkably.
At the INEC Quarterly stakeholders meeting called by INEC held on Oct 4 , 2017 DA contributed immensely.
H] Ranking in participation on IPAC-Inter Party Advisory Council: DA is ranked among the top 5 of 67 political parties:
I] At the IPAC Annual summit of 2017 held at Yar Adua center DA participated actively.
Ii] IPAC National Election: DA National Chairman H.E. Prince Frank Ukonga was elected by the general assembly of IPAC to be the Deputy Chairman of IPAC Election Committee that conducted the 2017 edition of IPAC EXCO that returned Hon Lawal Nalado as the IPAC National Chairman. The election was adjudged the best election in IPAC History.
Iii] IPAC State elections: The state chairmen of DA participated actively in the IPAC election of all the states of the Nigerian federation and most of them won positions as members of IPAC EXCO for the year 2017: In Kaduna state DA won the position of Publicity Secretary of IPAC, in Kwara state DA won the position of state Treasurer IPAC, in Edo state DA heads the Technical Committee of IPAC, in Bayelsa state DA won the position of Assistant Sec IPAC, and in several other states DA is either heading one IPAC Committee or the other...
Summarily DA can comfortably be ranked among Top 10 of 67 political parties in Nigeria that are doing very good in terms of active participation in elections, in terms of Election results,in terms of membership strength, in terms of Inter Party activities, in terms of internal Democracy, ranking in terms of structures , Offices, officers, personnel, and in terms of growth potentials, etc addressed to entrench nascent sustainable democratic dispensation in Nigeria and sub Saharan Africa.
Party Finance: The Financing of the DA are based on the dexterity of the National chairman H.E Prince Frank Ukonga to raise money from friends and other sources and by tasking members of the EXCO participating in National events to contribute part of their allowance to the party. Also efforts were made to raise donations from state chairmen. A proper audited report of the six months from July -December will be presented to the NEC in the next meeting.
Resolution Adopted :Vote of Confidence passed on the National Chairman and the National Working Committee and the National EXCO.
