Breaking News. Building strong Democratic institutions in Nigeria and Emerging Democracies; H.E Prince Frank Ukonga laud IPAC, urges the FG, UN and Global Actors to support IPAC.
Speaking to gentlemen of the Press in the just concluded NIPSS retreat in Abuja, H.E. Prince frank Ukonga the National Chairman of Democratic Alternative Party- DA urged the Federal government, the United Nations and other global Actors and institutions to support IPAC- Inter Party Advisory Council which is the association of all Political Parties in Nigeria. He explained that all political Parties in the country are signatories to the IPAC Code of Conduct as members and that IPAC is contributing immensely towards the establishment of sustainable democratic dispensation in Nigeria and in the emerging Democracies of the African continent. IPAC exists in many countries of the world.
The amiable prince of Kukuruku Principalities and Powers H.E. Prince Frank Ukonga said  that support for IPAC and her various programs to building strong political parties is a sure path to building strong Democratic Institutions in Nigeria, whence it is imperative to support IPAC if Nigeria and other Countries are truly committed to building strong and virile democratic institutions addressed to anchor the contemporary emerging democracies in the continent ,Which currently appears frail, and gregarious. He noted.

The agreement between the President of NYAGG Comrade Sylvester Efe and the NEC of DA-Democratic Alternative- Represented by the National Chairman of DA- H.E. Prince Frank Ukonga was sign and sealed today in Abuja.
This singular Chess move of strategy makes DA the most formidable and leading Party in the Nigerian Federation in terms of Membership strength, in terms of Credibility and in terms of acceptability, in terms of marketability and in terms of acceptability and in terms of most credible to win the 2019 general polls of the Nigerian Federation.
It was a fantastic chess move brokered by highly place personalities, and shakers and movers of the political economy of the Nigerian federation to make sure that the genuine party dedicated to deliver the dividends of democracy to the peoples of Nigeria comes to power in 2019.
Gone are the days of game as usual.2019 is going to be different as the Youth of Nigeria have decided to grab power through democratic means by banking on the leadership of H.E. Breaking News: H.E. Chief Olu Falae, H.E. Frank Ukonga, and Dr Tanko Yinusa storms INEC Stakeholder’s Summit in Abuja.
At INEC stakeholders’ summit held recently in the Electoral Institute in Abuja it was a gathering of the shakers and movers of the Nigerian political turfs.
Most of the Chairmen and Secretaries of the 68 political parties in Nigeria attended and one of the most crucial issues was the 2019 election sequence impasse between INEC and the Senate.
Earlier this year the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC came out with the 2019 time table which was widely acceptable to many but a twist came when the Senate passed a bill altering the 2019 election sequence making the presidential election the last to be held.
In the presentation of H.E. Chief Olu Falae to other chairmen of political parties the erudite sage and leader of the Afenifere – the pan Yoruba association of over 70 million peoples of the Yoruba Race in Nigeria and the Diaspora, a former Minister for Finance and Secretary to the Federal government of Nigeria and also a former Presidential candidate and currently the National Chairman of SDP- Social Democratic Party- H.E. Chief Olu falae advised that the Presidential polls should come last to stop the bandwagon voting effect were most states and LGA votes for party of the winner of the presidential election so as not to be in opposition..This had always somehow shortchanged the other political parties and does not allow the best and most capable to be elected to power…
Similarly Dr Tanko Yinusa, the National Chairman of NCP and former National Chairman of IPAC- Inter Party Advisory Council and an erudite intelligentsia argued in support of Chief Olu Falae’s observations and supported that the presidential polls be held last in the sequence of 2019 presidential polls.
H.E Prince Frank Ukonga the National Chairman of DA- Democratic Alternative Party in his contribution blasted the State Assemblies and governors not in support of the Local Government Autonomy bill and chided the governors on the recent dysfunctional status of the conduct of Local Government Elections where the incumbent governor through the appointed State Electoral Commission carts away all the councillorship and Chairmanship positions in their territories to the detriment of other political parties..This he said is most unfair to the newly registered political parties who  would be eying winning councillorship or chairmanship of some of the 776 LGA in the Republic, He appealed to INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmud Yakubu to do all within his powers to check the excesses of State Electoral Commissions.

The National Chairman of DA- Democratic Alternative Party in his contributions to vexing matters arising in the INEC Stakeholders’ Meeting held at the Electoral Institute in Abuja chided the State governors over the dysfunctional trends in the Local government elections in the country where a sitting governor who appoints the State Independent Electoral Commission wins all the seats of Chairmanship and Councillorship in all the LGA in the state. “This undemocratic trends is dangerous and counterproductive and would not allow for the entrenchment of genuine democratic dispensation in the grass root levels of the 3 tier of governance in the Republic..besides this is unfair to newly registered political parties who normally should eye winning Chairmanship and councillorship elections in some  of the 776 LGA in Nigeria as point de entrĂ©e into the schemes of governance in the Republic…”  He said
“This incumbent governors/party takes it all syndromes- if not checked could lead to dictatorship and anarchy.” The amiable Prince of Kukuruku Principalities and Powers H.E. Prince Frank Ukonga finally appeal to INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmud Yakubu to do all within his powers to check the excesses of State Electoral Commissions established by state governors’ but uses the structures of INEC Nationwide to conduct LGA Polls.

INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmud Yakubu, H.E.Prince Frank Ukonga, H.E Chief Olu Falae & Other Chairmen of Political Parties storm INEC stakeholders' Meeting in Abuja.
The INEC quarterly stakeholders' Meeting  with the National Chairmen of Political Parties was held in Abuja at the Electoral Institute in the Central District of Abuja on the 28th of February 2018 and it was a gathering of the major stakeholders' in the Nigerian Political turfs. Virtually all Chairmen of Political Parties in the country attended this all important meeting to ruminate on pressing issues of how to move the Nation out of the woods. In particular the impasse between the Senate and INEC on the timetable and sequence of elections of 2019  general polls of the Nigerian Federations and other pressing matters.
INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmud Yakubu stormed the stakeholders by announcing the Presidential election dates for the next 36 years starting from 2019 presidential election slated  for February 18th and March 2; in 2023 the dates are February 18 and March 3; in 2027 the dates are February 20 and March 6; in 2031 it is February 15th and March 1, in 2035 it is February 17 and March 3, in 2039 it is February 19 and March 5,and in 2043 the dates are February 21 and March 7, in 2047 it is February 15 and March 2, in 2051 it is February 18 and March 1, in 2055 it is February 20 and March 6.
This was heralded by the entire stakeholders and Chairmen of Political Parties
H.E. Prince Frank Ukonga who is the National Chairman of DA- Democratic  Alternative Party commended the dexterity of the INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmud Yakubu saying " this  is a Mile stone in the annals of democratic dispensation in Nigeria and the global village, Nigeria is setting the pace addressed to entrench sustainable and viable democratic dispensation in Nigeria and the African Continent...this giant strides and the dexterity of  INEC has gone a long way to alley the fears and anxieties of stakeholders as to the future development of the political institution in Nigeria which would no longer be speculative, at last Democracy has come to stay...it is a reality..."
The INEC chairman Prof. Mahmud Yakubu said the idea is to "engender certainty in our electoral calendar ,allow for long term planning by the commission as well as stakeholders and brings our democracy in line with the best practice around the world." he further stressed that this would ensure stability and certainty in the country's democratic process as obtained in developed countries sch as the United states where everybody knows the dates of presidential and general elections.
H.E. Chief Olu Falae a former presidential candidate and the former Finance Minister and Secretary to the Government of Nigeria and now the National Chairman of SDP- Social Democratic Party advised INEC to re  arrange the time table so that the presidential election would come last to stop  the bandwagon effect on voters who votes enmass for the party of the winner of the presidential polls in subsequent elections as no state nor LGA want to be in opposition.
