'The historic significance of the  age group promotion festival  as a sin qua non of the entire dialectical and historical materialism of the African peoples of sub Saharan Africa- as a microcosm of the glories, superlative art, culture and heritage of one of the richest aspects of  human glories in generality.''

The festival was first held in 1789  about 2 centuries ago as a remarkable significance of the victory of the Igarra peoples over its hostile neighbours in establishing a civilisation after their migration from the Jukun /Nupe empire after the bitter war with Her Royal Majesty Queen Amina of Zauzau{ Zaria} Empire when she embarked on her war of conquest to the sea. The Igarra Peoples had to migrate southwards crossing the Benue River at Idah where the Warlord Ogbodo the great of Igarra Leading the Igarra peoples Like Moses of the Bible to cross the River Benue when the Igarra Peoples where encircled by the soldiers of the attacking Zauzau Empire at River Benue Ogbodo the Great prayed to God and he was asked to stretch forth his spear and the spear turned into a bridge on the River Benue and that gave access to all the peoples of Igarra to escape to safety in the caves of the Kukuruku hills on the other side of the river....After the crossing of the igarra peoples over the river BENUE ,the great Ogbodo of the Eshinogu [ Warrior  Family- Defense arm of the 5 Royal Ruling Family of the Igarra Kingdom]  who lead the Igarra people to safety turned the bridge back into his spear and that spear is still alive today kept as a special custody of the Ogbodo's first son -- Okomayin  Ukonga which was transferred to Chief Gabriel Onaivi Ukonga the Royal Head of the ESHINOGU Royal Ruling CLAN..who became the custodian of that spear till he transcended to eternity... the tip of that spear must never torch the ground

The Aba festival is held to celebrate the entire victory of the survival of the igarra people from their long journey from the Jukun /Nupe Empire to their conquest of the peoples of the new settlement in the valleys of kukuruku... though many a people reads a myopic interpretations to the great significances of the festival by attributing it to the singular conquest of the Eziakuta Hunting expedition over the settler's of the Kukuruku kingdom...The significance of the ceremony is the total embodiment of the history and legacy of a people migrating from the Meronic Kursh Civilization in the Middle Nile of the Kurst Kingdom ,south of Egypt .According to Authentic German historians,Igarra Peoples moved down into western Sudan through three established routes and thrived as allies to the Fulani Rule of King Samanguru who toppled the Govt of Prince Abubakadri of the Mali Empire who abdicated  and sailed to the Americas... It was this Prince Abubakadri that discovered America and not Christopher Columbus as widely assumed in many books. After the reign of Sunni Sundiata the greats. Etuno people shared the Ruling Powers of the Mali Empire with the Fulani Kings as allied, same with the Yorubas  and these three tribes were allied even according the the Fulani Chronicles, Sultan Abubakar 1 of Sokoto Emirate said the Yorubas and some other tribes in Nigeria are the cousins /Historical partners  of the Fulani .The Etuno people were the owners of the goldfields of Wangara and the great sea port of Walata adjacent to Wangara meaning United Igarra.

And after the coptic Almoravides invaded the Mali Empire to form the Songhai Empire the Peoples of Igarra , the Filani and the Yoruba formed another city state of Futa Toro Kingdom on the East of Senegambian River and finally had access to migrate and conquer the entire Sahel and Savannah belt of Sub Saharan aspects of Western Sudan.We have our facts and figures, dates and time of the entire history of the Igarra Peoples dating more than 2000 years in the history of Africa....

The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party His Excellency Prof. Pat Utomi today reacted to the latest breaking news in the Nigerian Federation on the supreme court judgement that declared president Goodluck Jonathan winner in a widely disputed election of the April 2011.  The erudite Prof. offered the following observations:

"Now that the Supreme Court has rendered a verdict Nigeria must shift from electioneering mode to nation building mode. The acrimony generated from the last election cycle which almost pitched the North against the South must never be allowed to repeat itself. Going forward, the religion, ethnicity and region of a candidate should not be used as a means of projecting candidates and the INEC must summon the will to deregister ANY political party that uses religion, region and ethnicity to mobilize members. One Nigeria must be in practice not in rhetoric. PU"

The great Prof. has advised that Nigeria should roll up our sleeves and go back to the work of Nation building rather than continue to wallow in the post election brohaha which is a journey to no where.The streams of consciousness of the delectable Prof. is adjudge by many and also by us at National Peoples News as rightly guided.

BREAKING NEWS: SUPREME COURT CONFIRMS JONATHAN PRESIDENT; DE FACTO DE JURE. VALIDATES HIM AS WINNER OF THE  PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF APRIL 2011 
Nigerian Supreme Court today held that the April 2011 polls that brought Mr. Goodluck Jonathan to power substantially complied with Nigeria's electoral act.

Seven justices -man panel of the Supreme Court agreed unanimously that Jonathan won the election

Justice Olufunlola Oyelola Adekeye who  lead the judgment said that the April polls that brought H.E. President Goodluck Jonathan has a substantially complied with the laws of the Nigerian Nation state and there by putting to an end to the case brought before it by General Mohammadu Buhari challenging the April polls.

while five other justices and the Chief Justice of Nigeria  agreed with the ruling.
