Reports reaching National Peoples News about the AkokoEdo Local government Area was said to have been allegedly rigged by the incumbent party to its favour. It was reported that their were many irregularity ranging from  snatching of ballot boxes and reported violence in many parts of Akoko Edo. In Igarra ward One and Ward 2 Ballot boxes were alleged to have been stolen and vandalized by restive youth of Igarra demanding for credible polls. And some ward results were allegedly omitted or annulled due to these restiveness. The entire Igarra youth it is alleged are calling for the annulment of the Local Government polls and asking for fresh pulls with proper rules of engagements.

Edo state L.G.Polls: Court Slams Edsiec: Declares that the mandatory deposit from candidates of N100,000 ILLEGAL and ordered for the refund to candidate.Candidates to go to court over exclusion by Edsiec due to the illegal demand of compulsory deposits seeking inclusion and fresh polls.

The Edo state high court has declared the compulsory deposit of N100,000 by Edsiec the Edo state electoral commission illegal.And has ordered Edsiec to refund all the monies collected from candidates. In this context many candidates were disqualified because they could not pay the mandatory deposit demanded by Edsiec and since the court has said it was illegal these candidate did not have the opportunity to participate in the polls and have been illegally excluded from the polls. Many parties that held good credible primaries for their candidates to emerge for local government chairmen and Councillors particularly of the SDP, NCP and other political parties were shortchanged and edged out because they could not afford to pay the illegal extortion of Edsiec. Our consultations with Legal practitioners says these set od excluded candidates could seek annulment of the polls in  a high cout in the state pleading for inclusion and this will translate to the total annulment of the Edo LG Polls and a call for fresh polls so that these set of credible candidates can be included in the new polls.

The members of the CPC Party of Edo sate of Nigeria in Isan Central local government of Edo state  have staged several demonstration in the entire Isan land over the alleged rigging  the Local Government polls by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Dr Puis Odudu and other peoples of strange bed fellows with whom they are hobnobbing nocturnally addressed to shortchange the peoples of Edo State in the polls where he is alleged to impose his stooges and side kicks as the chairmen of the state as well as Councillors applying the laws of constitutional rigging of engagements and acts of commissions ans commission in the game without rules of chiron de centurion. Our reporters gathered that the peoples of Edo state are demanding the annulment of the Local Government polls and a going back to status quo anti bellum of a fresh election devoid of all constitutional barriers and edicts addressed to rig the polls in favor of the incumbent party of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

Today the 23 of April the entire Edo state communities all over the state are restive challenging the polls and asking for councelleation of the just conclu7ded Edo polls and demanding for conduction fresh polls in to the 18 local government Areas of the state for what they believed that the polls has been rigged and maniopulate d top the favour of the incumbent party by then Edsiec the electoral commission of the state. So as early as six o'clock

today aggrieved Edo peopl took to the streets and gathered in King square / Ring Road demanding for the cancellation of the polls. Many that expressed their opinion to National Peoples News believed that the polls ware rigged by the incumbent governor. Many expressed that the result were written before the polls. In some areas of the state ballot papers did not get to the ares until after 4 oclock and the polls was mered with gruesome deliberate  irregularities all addressed to shortchange the electorate from being able to chose credible leadership and accept the imposition of candidate on the entire peoples of Edo state.

We call on the Federal Government of President Goodluck Jonathan to come to the help of the peoples of Edo state and liberate then from the draconian, totalitarian, maximum rule of Governor Adams Oshiomhole...
