Edo 2016: IPAC Chairman Edo state H.E Prince Frank Ukonga commend the German government foundation of  Konrad Adenauer Stiftung  and  commandant General of National Civil Defense Corp Abdulahi Mohammadu Gana , NSCDC for organizing the seminar of “The Benefits of Violent Free Elections in Edo state” in Benin City @ the Oba Akinzua Cultural center.

On the 15^th of August 2915, at the Oba Akenzua cultural center in Benin City was the remarkable event of the NSCDC and sponsored by the German Government Agency Konrad Adenauer Stiftung to sensitize the stakeholders and the peoples of Edo state on the Benefits of Violent Free elections. The event was graced by the top security brass of Edo state and top officials of Civil Defense and INEC. Led by the commandant of Civil Defense Edo state commander Chika Walter Akuburo, INEC REC Edo state Hon. Sam Olumekun,  Six of the governorship candidates in the Edo 2016 polls were at the seminar, while most of the chairmen of political parties led by IPAC Chairman Edo State H.E. Prince Frank Ukonga, Comrade Andrew Igwemoh of ACD,

In his address to participants at the seminar, IPAC Chairman Edo state H.E. Prince Frank Ukonga commended the German Government and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Foundation for their supporting the Edo state election through this seminar addressed to enlighten the citizens of Edo state on the imperatives of Violent Free polls which create a peaceful society, safe for habitation, civilization and business to thrive. The Amiable Prince also commended the the National Civil Defense Corp commandant General Abdulahi Mohammadu Gana for this pro active security initiative.

Friday the 11^th of August 2016 was like the women day in Edo state as women and their fans and supporters trooped to the Oba Aknzua Cultural center in Benin to mark the 3ed anniversary of the Edo Women Development Initiative sponsored women annual summit in Benin City of the Nigerian federation.

His Excellency Prince Frank Ukonga was invited as a guest of Honor to mark this remarkable occasion.

In his contribution Prince frank Ukonga remarked on the giant strides of the Edo Women Development Initiative and the immense contributions to the development of Edo state women. Secondly the Prince stated that he supports women empowerment, gender equality and women participation in politics and running of the state; whence the NNPP party has promised 50% inclusion of women in their cabinet if elected to power in the 2016 polls. To promote gender equality the Amiable Prince has picked a women running mate and also encouraged women to participate in politics by persuading as IPAC Chairmen most political party chairmen in Edo state to pick women as their running mates to the governorship candidates and this has made a new record in Nigeria as the 2016 guber polls of Edo state is fielding 7 women to participant as running mates and one woman as governorship candidate this represent 25% of the women representation and highest in Nigeria and Africa. His Excellency Prince Frank Ukonga call on all women in Edo state to vote enmass for the NNPP Party and to Vote Prince Frank Ukonga as governor in the 2016 governorship polls.

Breaking News: Edo 2016:INEC present Parties with Voters Register:  H.E. Prince Frank Ukonga -IPAC Chairman Edo state commend INEC Chairman Hon Yakubu Mahmud, INEC REC Edo Hon Sam Olumekun, Edo CP Mr Chris Ezike and Top security Brass of Edo state @ the Presentation of Voters Register to chairmen of Political Parties held in Benin @ NOA Hall.

Yesterday was an epoch making event in the annals of built up to elections in Edo state when the National chairman of INEC presented the updated voters register to all political party chairmen contesting in the Edo 2016 governorship polls slated FOR Sept 10TH 2016.

Th chairman of the Inter Agency Security Committee of Elections Mr Chris Ezike the Edo state Police commission lead all other top security officers, agencies to presenting the voters register to all chairmen of political parties participating in the election.,Brigadier General Ishola the new Commander of the Edo state Military base witnessed the occasion , the commanders of the Air force,Civil Defense, Immigration, Prisons, Road Safety Corp, Customs,the Edo state DSS Director graced the occasion etc.

In his address the INEC National Chairman Professor Yakubu Mahmud urged represented by INEC zonal commissioner all political party to make good use of the voter register to plan stratagems of how to win the polls. He also urged all politicians in Edo state to rededicate themselves to peaceful, free , fair and conclusive elections which Edo state is known for.

The Edo CP. Mr Chris Ezike spoke of the readiness to cooperate effectively with other security agencies to nib electoral violence in the bud and provide top class security for the polls.

H.E. Prince frank Ukonga thanked and commended the INEC National chairman Professor Yakubu Mahmud, all the staff of INEC that came from Abuja to lecture the politicians on how to use the voters register, all the top security brass of Edo State for their tremendous achievements in the excellent performance all through the party primaries till today when the final list of candidates to contest was cleared by INEC :" On the behalf of all chairmen of Political Parties of Edo state and on the behalf of all the peoples of Edo state we thank you for these giant strides you have achieved in the 2016 governorship polls. Edo 2016 :IRI,USAIDS, Etsu Nupe flag off peace accord:, Frank Ukonga IPAC Chairman Edo state, Kennedy Iyere and Leaders of Political Parties sign Peace accord.
It was a remarkable event for the great king of Nupe Kingdom HRH Etsu Nupe the ruler of the Nupe Kingdom who is also the Chancellor of the Ambrose Ali University, and the Obafemi Awolowo University , Ife  recently flagged off the IRI and USAIDS Sponsored Peace Accord for all political parties contesting the 2016 governorship polls of Edo state schedule for Saturday Sept 10 th 2016.
The grand event was held at the 5 Star Hotel of Best Western Hotel in Benin city graced by the cream de la cream , stakeholders, shakers and movers of the Edo state political economy. All polical parties contesting in the 2016 governorship polls were well represented led by the chairman of IPAC - Inter party Advisory Cuncil of Edo state His Excellency Prince Frank Ukonga.

Breaking News Edo 2016: Obaseki, Frank Ukonga , Ize Iyamu and 16 others Make final INEC list: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of candidates for the Edo State Governorship election scheduled for Saturday, 10th September 2016. The List showed that 19 candidates would contest the election.

In a document signed and issued by the Secretary to the Commission, Mrs. Augusta C. Ogakwu,19 Political Parties and their Candidates have been cleared by the Commission to contest the election.

Section 34 of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) provides that: “The Commission shall, at least thirty days before the day of the election publish by displaying or causing to be displayed at the relevant office(s) of the Commission and on the Commission’s website, a statement of the full names and addresses of all candidates standing nominated.”
