 JUNE 12  AND JULY 14 EDO POLLS;WHICH WAS THE BEST ELECTION IN NIGERIA AND AFRICA?- AN EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS BY PRINCE FRANK UKONGA.

JUNE 12 ELECTION: The June 12 election was till recently adjudge the best elections in Nigeria and 

 Frank Ukonga - SDMP GOVERNORSHIP CAND. with Mrs Linda Asuquo of IRI

Africa in the aspects of peace, conduct, decorum, freedom, fairness , honesty , truth in democratic dispensation. It was a contest between SDP- Social Democratic Party of Basorun MKO Abiola and Alhaji Bashir Tofa of NRC- Party. Basorun Abiola won the election presided over by Prof. Humphrey Nwosu as NEC chairman and was organised by the military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida.

JULY 14 EDO POLLS; The Edo elections of July 14 has been classified by historians and observers as the best election in Nigeria and Africa and perhaps in the third world. This great feat was made possible by Proff. Atahiru Jega's INEC under President Goodluck Jonathan

The contenders in the edo polls Were;

1] H.E. Adams Oshiomole representing ACN Party

2] Prince Frank Ukonga- representing SDMP PARTY

3] Major General Charles Akhiavere representing PDP

4]Chief Solomon Edebire representing ANPP Party

5] Chief Andrew Eguemo representing Labour party

6] Chief Roland Izeobuwa representing CPC

7] Chief Paul Oruwense representing NCP Party.

All the candidate where formidable intellectuals and some with very formidable war chest and prepared for a great battle in the polls.

What led to the great success was the logistics, plannings and strategy employed by INEC in the polls.

 There ware several stakeholders meetings weekly to resolve any problems among the stakeholders. there ware several voters' education and sensitisation. there was the training of agents and security operatives on how to conduct credible elections.

 There ware sensitisation and training of candidates on how Best to go about credible polls.

 The press and observers as well as security agencies were carried along in the orientation and training of conducts expected during the polls.

 finally the election day came and the counting of vote were correct and tallied with the summary from each returning agent of parties. And this was the first time in Nigeria history were such feet has been achieved.

 The election was peaceful, fair ,free and the best so far in Nigeria History.

Next all the contenders went to greet the winner of the election H.E. Adams Oshiomole strengthening him with the imperative of de jure ,de facto premises of governance by humbly accepting the result and giving him clean bill of health to take Edo state to the next height in the context of social, economic and industrial advancement.

 In his own part Conrade Adams Oshiomole promised to carry every body along in the new government that will be formed in October 2012.

H.E. President Goodluck Jonathan

 If he delivers on his promises to all contending stakeholders as well as to the electorate Comrade Adams Oshiomole Will have left a legendary record in the aspect of Democratic culture as well as  in the premises of governance in Africa and the Black Race.

His Excellency Goodluck Jonathan and all the leaders of the stake holding parties are also to be commended for jointly working together to achieve this greatest record of our time in Nigeria and Africa.

I, Prince Frank Ukonga is highly elated to be given the opportunity by my party SDMP under the Chairmanship of Chief Olu Falae the former Minister of Finance of the Nigerian Federation as well as the former Secretary to the Government of Nigeria who took me as a political son and a protege. I will for ever be grateful unto all Nigerians that joined us to make the greatest election in Nigeria and Africa possible.
