The tenacious hard work of the chairman of SDP Edo state of Nigeria His Excellency prince Frank Ukonga had paid off, as he intelligently nurtured SDP from zero presence in the year 2011 when the amiable Prince from Igarra Akoko Edo brought the party into Edo state as SDMP to contest the senate seat of Edo North. He was the only candidate of SDMP that contested in the 2011 general polls but within 4 years the Prince ingeniously developed the party to become the 3 largest party in the state after APC and the PDP and today in the 2015 election the party presented credible candidates contesting all the seat of 3 senate, 9 Reps and 24 House of Assembly candidates that are credible tested and determined to win the polls...this remarkable feat is unprecedented in the annals of Edo history...and not stopping at that the SDP has one seat presently in the Edo state House of Assembly in person of Razak Momoh and one seat in the federal House of Rep in the person of Hon. Abubakar Momoh. Many other prominent persons like Alhaji Shagadi, Anselm Agbabi former house of Assembly member,,, the Obas, Akin Agbaje former chairman of Akoko Edo lga, etc had decamped to SDP because of the credible and formidable leadership provided by Prince Frank Ukonga. the Prince contested the governorship polls of 2012 along with gov Oshiomhole where he came forth out of 8 contestants since then he had invested his time and resources to building SDP in Edo state to lofty standard, Prince ukonga was a Presidential Aspirant in the 2015 polls but later tow the party line as the National Exco of SDP decided to endorse President Jonathan
Prince Ukonga is the IPAC ( Inter Party Advisory Council of all the chairmen of Political Parties) chairman of Edo state and also the IPAC chairman of the south south zone of Nigeria,
Prince Ukonga advice all new party members to obey party discipline and code of conduct as enshrined in the constitution of SDP, with strict adherence to respecting party leadership irrespective or age or status quo we must strive to obey the leadership in order to have progress as united we stand divided we fall.. And because of these, the party will not hesitate to weld the big stick when any member think he can undermine party constitution and rules of engagement by engaging in insubordination or in anti party activities... These vices would not be tolerated in Edo SDP.. finally Prince frank Ukonga admonish all contesting candidates to work hard to win while appealing to the electorate to come and join SDP as members and to vote for SDP enmass in the forth coming polls in 2015 and 2016 gubernatorial election
