frank ukonga commend the African leaders in the Extraordinary meeting in Addis Ababa and offer the following article for your considerations of the points of two intelligentsia of the African genre and to find solutions to some of the problems suggested by the two of them. Happy deliberations Frank Ukonga Lecture 22: OAU @ 50: Sino (BRICS) and African Relations: Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria H.E. Sanusi Lamido, Vs H.E. Prince Frank Ukonga , a Comparative Analysis of there Arguments ;Reference to the Recent South African dialogue of H.E.Thabo Mbeki. Re inventing, Africa and the Black Race of the 21st century and other matters arising.
Preambles: In the well advertized South African dialogue of the century to ruminate on OAU @ 50 ,which was a gathering of the luminaries of intelligentsias of the Black Race from all over the world to ruminate on the problems and prospects of the OAU and Africa as well as the Black Race to reinvent the Blacks in the emerging 21 century and to chart a new path for Africa’s social , economic and cultural entropy as OAU @ 50..organized a few day ago by His Excellency Thabo Mbeki in South Africa, Prince Frank Ukonga sent his thesis to the South African summit for discussions but nevertheless well published in the Social Network Media for all to read, just the next day His Excellency Dr. Sanusi Lamido the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria , who with immense dexterity was able to turn the collapsing fortunes of Nigerian Banks and the Nigerian economy to manageable international standard practice as a result of the backlash of the shabby consolidation exercise of the Soludonomics era, which is a great credit to His Excellency, reeled out well researched thesis about the Sino(BRICS) –African Relations published in the Vanguard Newspaper of 18th,March 2013, and what to expects in the 21st century and the problems of Nigeria cum Africa and the panacea to the vexing issues of the underdevelopment of Africa and the Black Race. The Thesis was a direct contrast of Prince Frank Onaivi Ukonga’s methodology on how to reinvent the OAU, Africa and the Black Race to take is rightful position in the 21st century.
This is a comparative Analysis of both arguments: Dr Sanusi Lamido vs. Prince Frank Onaivi Ukonga:
1)      On the causality of Africa’s Underdevelopment: Dr Sanusi lamido was quick to slam Prince Frank Ukonga’s position on the question of African underdevelopment which  Prince Frank Ukonga elicited as the tripartite evils of slavery , colonization and neo colonization of the African people that witnessed the removal of more than 500 million people of the Black Race to slave in America, New York, London ,Bones Aries, Paris, Bogota, Brussels ,Italy, Madrid, etc as the core of Africa’s underdevelopments by the imperialists which Basorun MKO Abiola in his book REPARATIONS, likened to the removal of all medical doctors, technicians, professionals from the soils of western civilization ,… how them will they have been developed and modern. On the contrary and though also important Dr Sanusi Lamido posited reasons of the inability to chose the right set of leadership in the African continent as the reason for our underdevelopment which of course is only a small fragment of the whole picture but certainly part of it. As neo colonization and the emergence of the white imperialist also obfuscates the Africa from being able to chose the right leadership through the imposition of stooges and promoting mediocre in to position of authority and power in Africa through the intervention of imperialist in African governance, should have been worthy of periscope by the erudite intellectual.
2)      Still on causality of Africa’s Underdevelopment: Prince frank ukonga posited the specifications of the destructions of all African institutions by the advent of the tripartite anti bellum trade that basterdized all the institutions of Africans from political, traditional, educational, marriage, culture, agriculture, infrastructural developments , value judgments and meth ethical resolves which the Prince categorized as the second stage of the underdevelopment by the institutionalized debauchery of slavery and denigration of the Black Race and its universality. But then Dr Sanusi Lamido, who is also a Prince, saw this problem  in his thesis as perhaps manageable; positing historically that Nigeria and some African countries were in the same level of developing nations as the Asian Tigers including China, just a few decades ago( which is true) and they were only perhaps slightly better than Africa but they emerged suddenly as Asian Tigers. With India, Brazil, Indonesia, Korea, etc, some of which are the notable members of the BRICS to become industrial giants and richest of the world today what then was holding Nigeria and  Africa back from achieving similar feats! He asked..Which is also dialectical….. Dr Lamido specifically mentioned China as the second largest economy in the world today which was just slightly better than Nigeria some decades ago as both were classed as third world developing nations…… here he points accusing fingers on all Africans for indiscretion, laziness perhaps and lack lustre attitude to the question of nationalisms and vanguard greatness.. Which again you cannot fault his streams of consciousness… which make his expose a very great thesis…
3)      Still on underdevelopment question: But then the Gaveyist which Prince Frank Ukonga, Basorun MKO Abiola and H.E. President Jacob Zuma share common views see it as slightly different. And our views is this: according to Basorun MKO Abiola, he compared the African dilemma to a person with a big wound in his legs, and you invite the person to come and run a race…the person with a big wound in his legs cannot walk talk more of running… Basorun Abiola classified the big wounds as those of slavery, colonization and imperialism and he advised that except the wound is taken to the hospital and dressed and allowed to heal the man cannot be able to run maybe only crawling and that is why the OAU and Africa is crawling today@50 while her contemporaries of China, India, Brazil and the Asia Tigers that had no wounds on their legs are already nearer the zenith of the race.
4)      Sino(BRICS) -African Relations: Dumping of Chinese and Asian goods in Africa: Dr Sanusi Lamido in his thesis saw the Sino Africa relations as dysfunctional as in the dumping of Asian goods mostly sub standard into the African market and somewhat was quick to cognitize the emerging master servant relation between the two groups as he noted that Asian Tigers are only interested in trade and removing African raw materials and in return dump finished manufactured goods into Africa…And this relations inter alias is responsible somewhat for the underdevelopment of Africa and he proposes a new relation with functional rules of engagements… which is laudable as well…
5)      Still on the Sino(BRICS) African Relations: On the contrary many see the Sino African Relations as the symbol of liberation of the African continent as they the BRICS played a major role in supporting Africa through thick and thin to liberate the continent from colonization , apartheid and imperialism. And this in contemporary times had continued in the aspects of trade, commerce, and mutual friendship though not without suspect of emerging master servant relationship of which Prince Frank Ukonga blamed on the corruption, looting of states, government, as well as private treasuries of the African countries by some of her leaders, mundane policy thrust ,military intervention in African politics, environmental hazards, etc as the causality of our de industrialization and underdevelopment in contemporary times..As well as lack of access to developmental finance by many African countries without ending up in the debt trap due to mismanagement.
6)      Sino(BRICS) African Relations and Technological transfer: Dr Sanusi Lamido proffer solutions to the underdevelopments of the African continent through dumping of goods philosophy by China and Asian Tigers based on new rules of functional engagements of technological transfer as to become the new basis of Sino Africa relations in the emerging 21st century which will rapidly develop the African continent and add values to our exports and perhaps be mutually beneficial to our Asian partners… which is ingenious and here Prince Frank Ukonga and Dr Sanusi Lamido and all Gaveyists are on same page..
7)      Reparations and other matters arising: The thesis of Dr Sanusi Lamido did not refer to the question of Reparations, though the topic he covered was on Sino African Relations ,but African history, development and legacies cannot be complete if we do not cast a view to the past and properly addressed the issues of Reparations as part and parcel of our destiny and duty to demand compensations for the destruction of African values, societies, institutions governments, education, etc which was the direct causality of our poverty and backwardness in contemporary times.. and to talk of Africa getting out of the woods without casting a glace on Reparations and the truculent past of slavery , colonization and imperialism and its resulting damaging impact it made on the African and the Black Race perhaps would amount to an omission. But it was not an omission by the erudite intellectual because he wrote about the insults in the thesis, but passed the issue off as perhaps a meaningless oxbow lake to the contemporary African or perhaps being theological about it as in commission. But Prince Frank Ukonga in his article just like other Gaveyist, believes in Reparations translating into a Marshal plan by the UNO and the Western Imperialists to assist in developing the African continent and assist Africa back to tolerable standards as a panacea. Reparation is not asking for a dime from any body but demanding for mutual beneficial relationship to develop Africa.
8)      Minerals, Trade and commercial rights vs Human rights in Africa: Dr Sanusi Lamido was quick to notice the flaws in the Sino African Relations based largely on the Asian Tigers being interested only in mineral rights, trade, and commerce with Africa which enrich them through the dumping philosophy and closing shops of our frail uncompetitive industries and was also quick to notice the rise of cost of production in Asia due to the affluence they had accrued and noticed that Africa should be the next world economic power due to our population and cheap labour…which are all dialectical and also went further albeit discretely to compare the relations of Sino African vs African and the traditional partners of Western powers and here he left the choice of the better of the two Masters to the reader in the methods of Aristotelian Reducio de Absurdum style of argumentum…but nevertheless it was obvious that he would not want to change his traditional partners nor will he recommend that to Africa in the emerging 21st century…because of other reasons of human right, development of democracy etc which is also ingenious…
9)      BRICS (Asian Tigers) vs The Western Traditional partners: From the above discuss Africa is facing the new challenge in the 21 st century of how to marry the two Masters. The emerging BRICS power of largely Asian Tigers rich to the marrow where China is the leading investor in Africa of FDI to the tune of above 180 billion dollars, followed by India of above 120 billion dollars and closely followed by Euro Asian Russia already edging out the traditional Western imperialist.... Prince Frank Ukonga warned in his article about the new concurrences that will emerge in the 21st century between these two Masters where Africa will become the battle ground for economic and political domination….Dr Sanusi Lamido had already foot noted which direction Africa should go albeit discretely in his thesis, but then on a closer look Prince Frank Ukonga is of the view that , it is time for Africa to pursue a pragmatic polit economic policy thrust based on interests , diplomatic reciprocities and détente and here there is the need for a new paradigm shift in the policy thrust of most African countries…based on constructive engagements rather than based on sentimentalities and relics of yore.
10)   Pls we welcome every body who wants to contribute his or her quota to the present discuss of OAU @ 50 .Which should translate to become a topic to be discussed on the televisions, radio, debates, schools, colleges, universities and to proffer solutions to the new direction for Africa and the Black Race in the 21st century. H.E. Thabo Mbeki has set the ball rolling by calling for a conference a few days ago on the topic in South Africa and all African Nations including the Blacks in Diaspora are encourage to discuss on the past , present and future becoming of the Black Race at this juncture of OAU @ 50 … in this way we are celebrating ourselves and charting new path of progress and prosperity for our Race and the Human family in generality….As the Freudian philosophy goes thus: that an unexamined life is not worth living….
Conclusion: We commend the great thesis of Dr Sanusi Lamido on the Sino(BRICS) African Relations published yesterday in the Vanguard Newspaper of the 18th March 2013, which is a masterpiece addressed to invigorate public discuss and enrich intellectualism on a global basis…
Thanks and God Bless
