PRESIDENT JONATHAN SCORECARD FROM NATIONAL PEOPLES NEWS: ISSN :1595-0549
The year 2012 has come to an end , thus ending the first year budget of H.E Goodluck Jonathan's mandate of four years; He proposed a second year transformational budget of the Nigerian political economy and the Senate has approved 4.8 trillion Naira for him in the year 2013.
The President Scorecard began with a courageous mark:
1] Timely preparation of budget and deliberation and approval by Senate: This is perhaps the first time in Nigerian History were the Budget for the year is settled within a week or perhaps two weeks to the beginning of another year. This is highly commendable.
2]Improved Education: The level of failure in school certificate exams has dropped from the former above 80% in OBJ era to a marked significant 62 % failure last week according the new SSCE exams results released by WAEC. This is a good development and if the 2013 budget, were education took the second largest shear and with the contributions from governors it is anticipated that an annual drop of 10% will just see our educational standards improving to less than 40 % failure by the end of the president 4 years term  and this projection and success is laudable and commendable as the most difficult thing in the world to do is changing the direction of trends for the positive and once this is achieved it is easy to continue the improvement... congratulations
3]Electricity : A significant improvement to above 4.500 mw. this is commendable
4] Transportation : a giant stride in Railway transportation in the Trans- Nigerian Rail way line commissioned last week . It is indeed a good development
5]Security: The President needs to do more on the security of the country this year
6]Banking, economy: He succeeded in improving the overall GDP and secured a portable economic growth without going a borrowing in the face of world economic recession, global crisis in all aspects of life. This is commendable.
7]Job creation; The President has to do more this year 2013
8]Sports and Youth development : There was a portable success in the Olympics as well as on Interstate sports won by Delta state. But there is the need for continuous improvement
9]Health: Similarly lots were done on the anti AIDS / HIV campaign, Malaria , typhoid and many other killer diseases... some states had improved hospitals as well, but 2013 should witness an improvement in health sectors.
10]Agriculture and industry: The President Agricultural schemes are commendable but more is required. The capacity utilization of the industries improved with improved power supply but more is required as regards the real sector of the economy.
11] FDI AND Foreign Policy thrust: This department witnessed tremendous success and if the trend is kept in the 2013 year Nigeria will emerge to be gradually taking its right place among Nations of the world
The new trans- Nigerian rail service commissioned by the President
12} Anti - Corruption Crusade: Our index on the anti corruption tables of some organizations of the world plummeted due to the fact that other insecurity issues of bombing etc is diverting the attention from the anti corruption crusade but notable and commendable was that at the burial of the Former Governor of Kaduna state the President reinstated the commitment of his Government to strict public probity and the EFCC has moved into action declaring  Former Korgi State Governor Audu wanted while the ICPC has given directives that torch that money and go to jail to Ministers and Directors...it is a commendable rejigging  the anti corruption crusade...
13] INEC / CONSOLIDATION OF NIGERIAN DEMOCRATIC EXERCISE:  INEC was able to organize the best election in Nigerian history as in Edo election 2012 and moving towards autonomy and consolidation of the Nigeria democratic institutions. This is commendable.
Lastly we wish the President of the Nigerian Federation happy new year in Advance and all Nigerians at home and in Dispora- and advice the President and all members of his government to put more efforts to service delivery, focus, transparency and hard work and to announce that the overall scorecard of his one year in government of 2012 is above average... about 65% which is highly commendable by the high standards of international standard practice used by National Peoples News..

Christmas message from GEJ- DEC -25-2012

MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT.GOODLUCK JONATHAN

Dear friends,

I want to seize this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a merry Christmas and a happy New Year in a
dvance.

I feel the pains of Nigerians and that is why this yuletide period I have personally instructed that our roads should be worked on to enable you and your loved ones travel safely for the holidays knowing that this season brings with it the highest volume of traveler traffic of the year.

This administration also made sure that most of our airports received a facelift with the terminals rehabilitated and the runways upgraded.

Not done, we ensured that for the first time in decades, the cross country services (Lagos to Kano with stops in cities along the route) of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) were revived just prior to the holidays to provide Nigerian masses with an inexpensive alternative to road and air transportation.

Nigerians traveled on these coaches which took them from Lagos to Kano beginning on Friday the 21st of December, 2012 at a very affordable rate of 1,500 Naira, with stops at many cities along the route.

This administration also took steps to increase power generation by remaining true to the Timelines of the Roadmap to Power Sector Reforms which has seen history made on Friday the 21st of December 2012, when Nigeria’s power generation hit an all time high of just over 4,500 MW which I know is still not good enough, but which nevertheless is an improvement of what we met on ground to the end that as many Nigerians as possible can celebrate the holidays with power in our homes and communities.

I reaffirm to you that, God willing, Nigeria will witness a better year in the coming year.

Once again, on behalf of my family and I and the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, wishes every Nigerian a very Merry Christmas and a most prosperous and Happy New Year. GEJ
