Breaking News: Edo 2016:INEC present Parties with Voters Register:  H.E. Prince Frank Ukonga -IPAC Chairman Edo state commend INEC Chairman Hon Yakubu Mahmud, INEC REC Edo Hon Sam Olumekun, Edo CP Mr Chris Ezike and Top security Brass of Edo state @ the Presentation of Voters Register to chairmen of Political Parties held in Benin @ NOA Hall.
Yesterday was an epoch making event in the annals of built up to elections in Edo state when the National chairman of INEC presented the updated voters register to all political party chairmen contesting in the Edo 2016 governorship polls slated FOR Sept 10TH 2016.
Th chairman of the Inter Agency Security Committee of Elections Mr Chris Ezike the Edo state Police commission lead all other top security officers, agencies to presenting the voters register to all chairmen of political parties participating in the election.,Brigadier General Ishola the new Commander of the Edo state Military base witnessed the occasion , the commanders of the Air force,Civil Defense, Immigration, Prisons, Road Safety Corp, Customs,the Edo state DSS Director graced the occasion etc.
In his address the INEC National Chairman Professor Yakubu Mahmud urged represented by INEC zonal commissioner all political party to make good use of the voter register to plan stratagems of how to win the polls. He also urged all politicians in Edo state to rededicate themselves to peaceful, free , fair and conclusive elections which Edo state is known for.
The Edo CP. Mr Chris Ezike spoke of the readiness to cooperate effectively with other security agencies to nib electoral violence in the bud and provide top class security for the polls.
H.E. Prince frank Ukonga thanked and commended the INEC National chairman Professor Yakubu Mahmud, all the staff of INEC that came from Abuja to lecture the politicians on how to use the voters register, all the top security brass of Edo State for their tremendous achievements in the excellent performance all through the party primaries till today when the final list of candidates to contest was cleared by INEC :" On the behalf of all chairmen of Political Parties of Edo state and on the behalf of all the peoples of Edo state we thank you for these giant strides you have achieved in the 2016 governorship polls. It was a remarkable event for the great king of Nupe Kingdom HRH Etsu Nupe the ruler of the Nupe Kingdom who is also the Chancellor of the Ambrose Ali University, and the Obafemi Awolowo University , Ife  recently flagged off the IRI and USAIDS Sponsored Peace Accord for all political parties contesting the 2016 governorship polls of Edo state schedule for Saturday Sept 10 th 2016.
The grand event was held at the 5 Star Hotel of Best Western Hotel in Benin city graced by the cream de la cream , stakeholders, shakers and movers of the Edo state political economy. Breaking News Edo 2016: Obaseki, Frank Ukonga , Ize Iyamu and 16 others Make final INEC list: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of candidates for the Edo State Governorship election scheduled for Saturday, 10th September 2016. The List showed that 19 candidates would contest the election.

In a document signed and issued by the Secretary to the Commission, Mrs. Augusta C. Ogakwu,19 Political Parties and their Candidates have been cleared by the Commission to contest the election.

Section 34 of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) provides that: “The Commission shall, at least thirty days before the day of the election publish by displaying or causing to be displayed at the relevant office(s) of the Commission and on the Commission’s website, a statement of the full names and addresses of all candidates standing nominated.”

On Tuesday the second of August 20 16, the Inter Agency Consultative Committee on election Security - ICCES held a top security summit at the Police Officers Mess in Benin with the leaders of all the political parties in Edo state and the candidates contesting the 2016 governorship polls in the state.
It was a well attended security summit and the top brass of security agencies in Edo state were all present in the epoch making event.
Lots of security challenges were espoused by the Chairman of ICCES Mr Chris Ezike, the Hon Commissioner of Police of Edo state and he assured all stakeholders of the readiness of the police force and the ICCES to achieve a free, fair, credible and conclusive election in Edo state.
The INEC REC Edo state Hon. Sam Olumeken assured all stakeholders of the readiness of INEC to conduct a free, fair, crdible and conclusive election of sept 10, 2016.
H.E Prince frank Ukonga the IPAC Chairman of Edo state signed the Peace Accord on the behalf of all the political parties of Edo state and assured all stakeholders of the readiness of IPAC- Inter Party Advisory council to cooperate with INEC and the security agencies of Edo state to have a free, fair, credible and conclusive governorship election of Sept 10, 2016.

Towards the success of the 2016 governorship polls of Edo state, the independent National Electoral Commission of the Nigerian Federation under the distinguish leadership of Professor Mahmud Yakubu Organized a one Day workshop in Benin city yesterday August 3rd, 2016 at Bishop Kelly Pastoral Hall, to sensitize and launch the Alternative Dispute Resolution Concept in Benin City Edo state.
The Event was chaired by the INEC Rec of Edo state Hon. Sam Olumekun and H.E Prince Frank Ukonga the chairman of IPAC Edo state was special guest of Honor leading all chairmen and secretaries of all political parties in Edo state to attend the one day workshop.
Many other organizations were ably represented in the one day workshop on intra party Alternative dispute Resolution and Inter party Alternative Dispute Resolution.
The INEC Rec Edo state Hon Sam Olumekun Urged all political Parties to make  good use of the Alternative Dispute resolution mechanism recently opened by INEC to resolve Intra and Inter Party Disputes.
His Excellency Prince Frank Ukonga called on all leaders of Political Parties in the country to shun rushing their internal Dispute to courts as INEC have wisely open a new department of Alternative Dispute Resolution for all political parties to resolve all conflicts both the pre election conflicts, election conflicts and post election conflicts can be amicably resolved by Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanism.
