The race to succeed
the governor of Edo state His Excellency comrade Adams Oshiomhole has begun in
earnest. Prince Frank Onaivi Ukonga the chairman of SDP Edo state in
association with like minds of NCP whose chairman is Comrade Victor Ogba and
the leaders of the APGA and AD in Edo state regrouped on the 28th of
August in a meeting held in Benin city to team up ahead of the 2015 general
elections and 2016 governorship elections in the state.
It becomes necessary to
rejig the Allied Group that worked with the comrade governor Adams
Oshiomhole which resulted in the landslide victory as in the Edo gubernatorial
polls of 2012 adjudged the best election in Nigerian history were H.E. Prince Frank
Onaivi Ukonga played a remarkable role. But this time around the new alliance
is determined to repeat the same success in the 2015 general polls and the 2016
governorship polls but would not be second fiddle but occupy the front role as
in rotational stratagem. In the first alliance of 2012 the ACN ,Labor party, SDP, NCP and CPC allied
together to produce a formidable candidate of H.E. Adams Oshiomhole that won in
a land slide victory the governorship polls, but then the ACN ,CPC,ANPP have
gone to form the APC, which demand a new repackaging of the Allied Group under the leadership of Prince Frank Ukonga
and other stalwarts of other political parties with like minds and similar
manifestos of delivering the dividends of democracy to the majority of
Nigerians which translate to free qualitative education at all level to all Edo
state Citizens, affordable housing policy thrust, free and qualitative health
care delivery system, vibrant economy, empowerment of the youth and women of Edo
state, jobs for all the citizens of Edo state, industrial and agricultural
revolution, etc
We are grateful to the
peoples of Edo state who believe resolutely in the commitment of the Allied Group to deliver and who voted en mass for one of our candidate in the Edo 2012 as in
the landslide victory of comrade Oshiomhole and at this juncture we want to
remind you that there will be another vacancy in the Edo governorship seat in
2016 as comrade Oshiomhole will be completing his second term in office and
another candidate has to be governor as provided for by the Nigerian
constitution, so we appeal to all Edo
state peoples to continue to cooperate with the Allied Group in order to install another credible candidate
as governor in 2016 that would continue the great legacies of comrade Adams
Oshiomhole; as we are determined to take Edo state to higher grounds of
social, economic and industrial prosperity while in the 2015 general polls we
shall present credible determined candidates for all elective positions in Edo
and this idea may be given maximum National interpretation for the benefit of
all participating parties as stakeholders,. Our alliance is open to all other
political Parties of the Nigerian federation and other pressure groups.
