The Honourable Commissioner,
INEC BENIN,
PETITION TO INEC
REF: EDO NORTH SENATORIAL POLLS: EDO SDMP REJECTS INEC RESULTS OF SENATORIAL POLLS OF 9TH APRIL 2011.
The SDMP party hereby reject the result of the senatorial election of Edo North of the 9th of April 2011, as the name of the SDMP candidate OJO FRANK UKONGA was absent from the list of contestant in the Edo North senatorial polls.
In the Press, Media, local and foreign, and the internet the name of SDMP candidate OJO FRANK UKONGA was absent from the list of result published by INEC. But we noticed a name OJO .F. UKONYA presented as SDMP senatorial candidate in the result published by INEC. Unfortunately that is not the name of the SDMP candidate and this omission and indiscretion is a disinformation addressed to tarnish the image of the SDMP Candidate. And this is unacceptable to SDMP and the entire Edo North community.
We noticed that at every opportunity INEC had always tried to present SDMP Candidates in Edo either as non existing or to give their names a hopeless, funny rendition, through miss spelling and wrong presentation to cast an apparition of defaming their personology as non existent and uncognitizable by the voters and public as candidates contesting election.
This disinformation had caused a colossal damage on the person of OJO FRANK UKONGA through loss of votes, personology and integrity as a non existing contestant who at best could be adduced as impersonating as a candidate in an election he was duly accredited for as an SDMP Senatorial nominees for the April polls.
That is INEC presented SDMP Senatorial Candidate in Edo North as a pretender, rather than as a contender in the election and this is unacceptable to SDMP.
The consequent of this art of omission and commission caused by INEC indiscretion has caused the SDMP Senatorial Candidate loss of voters, defamation of his personology and loss of hardly earn revenue invested in the projection of the OJO FRANK UKONGA name that has been desecrated, misspelled and destroyed by INEC through deliberately misspelling the name as OJO FRANK UKONYA in the internet and to the press and the entire world, to give it a mundane, miserable and denigrating interpretation.
Therefore under such circumstance the election can not be said to be credible and we reject the result and demand an apology and explanation for this hopeless, mischievous behaviour of INEC to our party.
Based on this we pray that the election result be set aside through cancellation as the result is unacceptable to SDMP party.
EDO SDMP DEMANDS THE FOLLOWING:
1. A written explanation and apology to Edo SDMP, for non inclusion / incorrect presentation of the name of FRANK OJO UKONGA the SDMP candidate in the April polls results published in the Internet and Newspaper.
2. INEC to immediately include FRANK OJO UKONGA, the name of our SDMP candidate in the internet website to be spelt out correctly as the SDMP senatorial candidate.
3. An apology to the SDMP and FRANK OJO UKONGA in at least 20 National Dailies and Televisions stations / Radio station telling the world the true and real name of SDMP senatorial Candidate of Edo North polls of April 9th.
4. Cancellation of the April 9th Senatorial polls in Edo North as it is incredible, unfree and unfair and unacceptable.
5. A rerun election of the Edo North Senatorial polls.
