EDITORIAL: SOUTH AFRICA AS A THREAT & USURPER OF THE NIGERIAN LEADERSHIP
OF AFRICA.: THE DEFT POLITICAL MOVES OF JACOB ZUMA-SOUTH
AFRICA JOINS THE BRICS STATE [BRAZIL,
RUSSIA, INDIA, CHINA & SOUTH AFRICA] THE RICHEST
ECONOMIC UNION OF THE WORLD & THE FUTURE
OF THE 21ST CENTURY.
Last Month we at National Peoples News published an
interview we had with the Director General of the Russian Trade Representation
in Nigeria and he acknowledge
that The Russian Federation posits Nigeria as an economic giant and as
the indisputable leader of the African Continent as a Regional Power. And this
has been the high esteem the great Soviet Union Ranked Nigeria as well as the
New Supper Power of the world the Russian
Federation, but recently South
Africa has been making deft cheese moves to usurping this
esteem position reserve for Nigeria
on a world wide scale.
South Africa has become a dangerously calculating competitor
as in the order of a personage of the Nikoli Gogols Classics “PIKAVAYA DAMA”-
Russian…meaning “Queen of Spade” where Haman and Shakalensky were at each
others throat in order to steal the secrets of everlasting wealth from an old
octogenarian [BABUSKA-Russian]- hag who could die any moment and Haman a young
man to the marrow plotted his way into her heart as a prospective eligible
suitor in marriage….You can see the vulnerability. And that is exactly the
vulnerability, jealousy of South
Africa about the Nigerian Leadership of the
African Continent.
It all started two months ago when South Africa was invited as an observer status
to the meeting in Moscow
of the NATO Warlords and the Russian/CIS WAR Generals presided over by the
President of the Russian Federation His Excellency Dmitri Medvedev.
We have the video and pictures at National Peoples News
where President Jacob Zuma was conspicuously present in the meeting.
We immediately congratulated His Excellency Dmitri Medvedev
over the success of the meeting but our Publisher at National People’s News,
Prince Frank Onaivi Ukonga, remarked that it should have been the Nigerian
President H.E. Goodluck Jonathan that should have been invited to represent Africa.
Last week South Africa
was admitted officially into the Union of the
BRIC STATE BECOMING BRICS as an official de facto, de Jure member….this is a
usurpation of our established leadership role of the African continent…
Earlier in our publication to His Excellency Goodluck Jonathan
titled – “What Nigerians Expects of Ms Okonjo Iweala’ we at National Peoples
News has expressed the idea that Ms Okonjo Iweala and President Jonathan seek
for the membership of the BRIC union- which is the richest economic and
political union of the world and the BRIC, we warned will likely dominate the
entire world in the 21 st century…
While we were advising our President, it was another President
sitting by the corner, that was reading our internet site and making use of the
idea….
A point of concern is that before this time in 2009, the
same South Africa complained to the Nigerian government that the writings of
our Publisher Prince Frank Onaivi Ukonga, is the one that caused riots in Johannesburg,
Soweto, Cape Town and Pretoria when some South Africans went to download his
book The “Seething World” from Google books and began to print and sell it in
South African and they began to interpret the book upside down and began to
riot…
Our publisher was arrested and interrogated and he stated
his own side and was later released. This was addressed to cow our publisher,
Prince Frank Onaivi Ukonga but at last it is the South African Government that
are now going to our website and using the advice that are not meant for them
but meant for President Goodluck Jonathan.
President Jonathan is a great listening president and he
also saw our publication as in the Economic Committee’s composition which we
complained that it should consist of the Representatives of the industrial
sectors, the agricultural sectors, banking sectors and the Internal Revenue Generating
sectors and he quickly expanded the Economic Team by bringing in the new
sectors we suggested and he has a good Economic Team right now..
The last aspect of our article was the issue of making
overtures to woo the BRIC Union Nations and he did his best by bringing in
Russia into his Nuclear Energy program and wooing china by direct foreign
investment approach…His stratagem was sound and he only needed some time to
consolidate his government and give the other aspects of partnering the BRIC
State a full thrust…little did we knew that South Africa was hanging by the
corner to out smart us into the full membership of the BRIC.
We published shortly afterward a warning article in National
Peoples News about
‘THE NEED FOR A PARADIGM SHIFT IN THE NIGERIAN FORIGN POLICY
THRUST’- which was also widely circulated last month; as to pursue National interest
that will enable us emerge a stronger power by making new alliances to
strengthen our colonial ties and emerge a beautiful bride to be courted by the
East and the West… as in strengthening the NON ALIGNED MOVEMENT.
President Goodluck Jonathan also did something quickly to
this effect, by making official visits to a number of countries including
Rwanda, the United Nations Summit where he positioned that Nigeria be made a
permanent MEMBER Nation of the Security council of the world and the
Commonwealth meeting in Australia which was successful…and he is just set to
putting his act together when South Africa came up with this joker by
officially becoming a member of the BRIC.
THE FULL ECONOMIC AND STRATEGIC INPORTANCE OF MEMBERSHIP OF THE BRIC NOW BRICS UNION.
1] As a member Nation of the richest union of the world- [Brazil, Russia,
India, China. and now South Africa]
you are qualified to access a pull of economic potentials of these Nations to
develop your own.
2] In the case of Africa; South Africa will become the first
destination country for the huge direct foreign investments of these leading
rich Nations of the world, will have access to above 3 trillion dollars direct
foreign investments between now and year 2020.
3] South Africa will have access to other wealthier markets
like the CIS union, East-Asian Economic Union and the Central Asia Economic
Union and the East European Economic Union… all these Economic and political
unions are very powerful collectively as Russia, China, Iran and India are the
leaders of these unions with vibrant economies and a large chunk of surplus for
direct foreign investments which South Africa will now have access to harness
directly.
4] South Africa
will now have access to become a member of the CIS whose headquarters is in Minsk- Belarus
and tacitly will have access to all the other organizations of the CIS which
will flow in finance, ecological aids, grants, investments and other
opportunities to South
Africa.
5] Militarily, South Africa can now access all the
latest weaponry of the BRICS states at a partner level of buying from the BRICS
market at the same low prices as other member states of the BRICS. Non member
States will buy at high international prices.
6]Export Potentials: If South Africa signs the Customs Union aspects with the BRIC States it will have
access to a huge market of more than 4 billion people of the world.
7]If South Africa signs the defense initiative of the BRIC
Union it will have access to more than 6 million standing Army of the BRIC
states and a whole world of latest weaponry .As it is, if any Nation attacks
any member Nation of the BRICS OR CIS it has attacked all member Nations. And
they will all stand up to retaliate on your behalf. Iran
has joined the CIS- Commonwealth of Independent States of which Russia, Ukraine, etc are members as a link
into the BRICS. So Iran
is insured against any invasion.
8] Technological and scientific cooperation; South Africa
will have access to a huge network of new technological and scientific
materials that will accelerate its industrial, educational and cultural
advancement into the 21st century perhaps as a great leader of
Africa and if we are not smart in Nigeria to reposition and assert our
leadership position then South Africa would have usurped our natural
leadership.
9] South Africa’s
Jacob Zuma was conspicuously present in the G-20 Summit in France last
week. We have the pictures, as well as the pictures and video, of his
membership of the BRICS at National Peoples News. This means South Africa
will soon become a member of the G-20.
10] The G-8 summit of the most exclusive leaders of the world
may soon become the G-9 with South
Africa being sponsored as the ninth country
of the world. And this will really hit Nigeria below the belt.
WHAT NIGERIA
SHOULD DO TO COUNTER SOUTH
AFRICA’S DEFT POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC MOVES?
1] As a matter of urgency the 7th Assembly is
strongly advised to convey a joint sitting of both Houses to discuss this issue
with a view to evolving a master strategy to counter these new moves of South Africa.
2] There is the need to evolve a new foreign policy thrust
for the Nigerian State, with a paradigm shift based on
interests and dumping the old policy focus of African interest being our centre
focus…
This was a condition of necessity due to apartheid in the
Southern Parts of Africa in the 70s now that African States are liberated and
have become major treat, we should respond with a corresponding shift in our
foreign policy initiative.
3]We will not begin to struggle with South Africa to become
a member of the BRICS state as it is belated, but we can move the other way not
to the West but by a functionally crafted new initiative where we shall emerge
as a Third alternative of the world, if
we have the will; here :
The BRICS-RUSSIA, NATO-AMERICA, NONALIGNED-NIGERIA
4] India used to be a member of the Non aligned Nations but
suddenly it has moved into the BRICS but then playing a second fiddle in the
BRICS; and we have at National Peoples News some of the recent speeches of the
Prime Minister of India expressing fears about China etc and this is a
structural fatigue in the BRICS. Nigeria
can invite India
to lead our own newly formed Axis of Non Aligned. India will choose to lead our Non
Aligned Axis than to play second or third fiddle in the BRICS.
5] The Federal Republic of Germany visited Nigeria for the first time in 50 years H.E. Lady
Markel the Prime minister of Germany
visited Nigeria
a few months ago.
Looking closely at
the foreign policy thrust of the German
State the visit was very significant
as to marketing a new Germany,
richest in Europe and a leading world economy,
wanting to chart a new path for her country. We should grab this opportunity by
inviting them into our axis.
6] Australia
is an Emerging continent and with its vast potentials could partner with our
own Axis. That is we are suggesting a new economic axis of Germany, India,
Nigeria and Australia…GINA…
7] In the pacific realm we could bring in Canada to form a full world economic prosperous
union like the BRICS [Brazil,
Russia, India, China,
and South Africa]…
Ours will be NAGIC economic axis [Nigeria,
Australia, Germany, India,
and Canada,].
Remember we have others like the PIGS states of [Portugal,
Italy, Greece, Spain], the SHENGEN., ETC
8]A point of note is that this is the new trend of the
world, where Nations come together to pull there economic potentials together
for the benefit of all member states and Nigeria cannot stand aloof…
9] Notice that we did not suggest our colonial masters –
Britain in the axis because the new axis being formed the world over is not
based on historical ties of friendship but a new order based on equality and
forging ahead together..
10] We also did not suggest the United
States of America because they have the NATO union with
the West and the United
State has such several
Unions and we would not advise the new union to play second appendage.
This is a carefully researched approach to the issue and the
countries mentioned were carefully researched as well. Sweden and Norway are possible allies as
well..
These countries suggested are Rich, with wealthy markets but
have problems just like Nigeria
in defining a new path of economic axis and kind of floating in between the existing
old order but if we prime move a new direction they will be interested in solid
cooperation with us.
Note that if we market our own variation of new economic
axis aggressively we are on our path to reposition our Nation on the world map
and could be as strong as the BRICS in not too distant future. But we should
steer clear of colonial and imperialist ties of yore to cut out with other Nations
a new vibrant economic axis…
IMPORTANT NOTE: We at National Peoples News is not being paid to do all this contribution to National Development in the aspects of the deep extensive R&D we do to move Nigeria forward in the past 20 years..all we see are people coming to our site and poaching ideas and using the ideas for selfish interests without complimenting the sources of the the idea , which is intellectual robbery .
