We of the Edo SDP on behalf of our state chairman Prince Frank Onaivi Ukonga, wish all Nigerians a happy democracy Day of May 29th when the contemporary democratic dispensation was inaugurated in 1999  and since then Nigeria had experienced unparallelled progress in social , economic and industrial prosperity. As at 1999 Nigeria was greatly indebted to the tune of 45 billion dollars to the IMF, World Bank, the Paris club and other private capitalist lending syndication including a debt of 5 billion to the Russian Federation. During this 13 years of our democracy Nigeria left the debt club and began to have big surplus. In the aspects of electricity generation and economic growth Nigeria has performed remarkably within this period of our nascent democratic dispensation. Though much is left to be done in the context of redundancies of skilled and unskilled labour... and the delivery of dividends of democracy to the common man which will translate to the empowerment of all and sundry in the polity. And presently the future holds lots for Nigeria as our destiny to lead the African continent is non negotiable. Consequently we at SDP Edo state greet all Nigerians hearty democracy day as this lofty achievement were a collective responsibility of all Nigerians. We admonish all Nigerian to join hands and come together with vigor and vitality to take our great destiny with both hands and march into the 21st century as a great power that will be second to non in international standered practice before the upper quatile of the 21 century.
