FRANK UKONGA LECTURE 11- THE IMPERATIVES OF REPARATIONS TO AFRICANS TO
SURVIVE HUNGER, JOBLESSNESS, AID PANDEMIC, BLACK OUTS, EPILEPTIC
INFRASTRUCTURES, DISEASES, DEATHS, GRIEF, MISERY AND SHAME. A PASSIONATE PLEA,
TO THE SUPER POWERS, FOR ASSISTANCE.
A FOCUS ON SOMALIA AND NIGERIA.
The problem is here again, the
case of Million of children and adults dying in Somalia of hunger. The case of
Millions of Nigerians displaced out of flood and environmental disaster, all
over the African continent the story is the same things of news of woes, death,
hunger and grief. The earnings of African Nation states from monoculture
exports of primordial raw materials to the advance Northern industrial giants
cannot fund the development needed in the Africa continent thereby plundering
African Nations to go a borrowing. And remember he who goes a borrowing, goes a
sorrowing. The bulk of these problems are traced to the aspects of the tripartite
of slavery, colonization and imperialism foisted on the African continent by
the white Race. And because of this I published a celebrated book titled -The
Seething World- Reparations for the Black Race- A functional Approach -in 1992
calling the entire world to focus attention on the problems of the African
continent. Like wise Basorun MKO Abiola, was dedicated to the question of
Reparations payments to Africa for the damages of the past which will assist
the African continent to get back on its feet.
Slavery: In the research I conducted traveling to many countries of
Europe and the America studying the manifests and Bills of Laden of shipments
of slaves and stolen wealth from Africa I came to the empirical result that
more than 500 million Africans were plucked in their prime to go and slave in
plantations of Europe and America and used as the beast of burden to build the
great cities of Paris, Brussels, Lisbon, New York, London, Bogota and Bones Aeries
etal. The wealth, gold, natural resources of all kinds were stolen form Africa
by the colonialist thereby leaving Africa in poverty, misery, hunger and shame.
That is why we are calling on the white colonialist to come to the Aid of
Africa today in particular Somalia and Most Areas of Africa devastated by their
impudence of yore. The sum total of the wealth removed from Africa during
slavery when calculated it in today’s value is astronomical and that has left
Africa poor and underdeveloped.
COLONIZATION: The damage of colonization was very steep and these
ware the real areas where Africa was raped and underdeveloped.
African Agriculture; the colonial system of Agriculture foisted on the
African continent was to grow cash crops introduced by the colonialists to feed
their industrial plants. Same with the system of Animal husbandry as in the cases of Central and Southern Africa, where
the whites introduced their own methods and species to the detriment of the
African natural system of agriculture . this depleted the soils nutrient of the
African continent as well as the tree falling in many African countries as in lumbering, killing of wild life in search
for Elephant tusks and skins of rear animals etc all have depleted the wild
life of Africa and its agricultural glories of mixed farming. Whence, when the
white left, Africa has become atrophied, from its traditional ways, and the problems
of poverty, hunger, diseases etal set into the African continent.
Industries and Institutions: All the stable institutions of the
African societies were destroyed to pave way for the colonial powers to govern
Africa in their own style and methods. The institutions of Marriage, family life,
economic life, political institutions, manufacturing, infrastructural
development institutions, defense, government, public administration, commerce,
architectural, building, banking, education, cultural institutions and every
thing were destroyed. When they left it was impossible to go back to our
traditional ways as it has been lost in the ebbs and tides of our truculent history.
Which many researchers like W.E.B. Dubois called the double face consciousness
of the African personality, the black skin but white character and in recent
time Prof. ALi Mazuri developed the thesis of W.E.B Dubois in to a new level of
Tripartite personality of the African person, focusing on the specifications of
Islamization, African culture and Christendom and their advancements in to the
African society. Prof. Ali Mazuri sent
me the thesis a few months ago and I agree with his thesis.
NEO Colonization: After independence the colonial masters spread a
neo colonial web over the colonies ruling most African states with their surrogates
and despotic African rulers for decades and later with the interventions of the
military rulers who it was also convenient for the colonialist to do business with;
Africa was plundered for upward of 4 decades and it is only a few years now
that the wind of peoples democracy is blowing across Africa. This has
underdeveloped the African continent as in the little post independence era
where African would have been assisted to limp up gradually, was also wasted
away.
BLACK ON BLACK IMPERIALISM: And in contemporary times a new phenomenon
of Black on Black imperialism is blowing across the African continent were the aspects
of market driven economy is inducing many Africans despots and their surrogates
to loot the treasuries of most African
Nations dry in carnal, crass , wicked and satanic ways that leaves much to be desired.
The contemporary situation will frighten any man or woman of goodwill; as
poverty, joblessness, hunger, malnutrition, poor health system, homelessness,
firming, frustrations, stress, deprivations, prostitution, aid pandemic, lack
of water and electricity, misery, begging, destitution, poor infrastructural
development, poor and sub standard education, mass failure in schools, all
factories closing shops due to unfriendly production environment ,no electricity,
voodoo and occult wickedness, accidents and death due to bad roads with pot
holes, illiteracy, polio, inter tribal wars, civil wars, genocides,
environmental and ecological death and degradations, and now we have a new phenomenon
of terrorism, kidnapping, and all the kinds of ills that you cant think of is plaguing
the African continent. All the resources and treasuries of the African continent
are looted away by the new phenomenon of Black imperialist most of them driving
jeeps, airplanes, speed boats, living in satanic opulence, while over 99% of
the citizenry live in abject poverty, hunger, denigration, deprivation, misery,
death, grief and shame. One of the most decadent cultures ever conceived on
earth that will terrify Chiron the beast. A Hobbebian state of man has taken
over Africa were life is short, brute and nasty. The situation is despicable.
“Mother Africa has been taken to
the knackers and raped, its remnants served as food for vultures, beasts and scoundrels
of a raven epoch…as it is written, the glories of Israel is slain upon the high
places…tell it not in Garth, publish it not in the streets of Ashkelelon least
the daughters of philistines rejoices, least the sons of the uncircumcised triumph….”.
CONCLUSION: This is a passionate
appeal to the entire world to come to the aid of Africa. To help Africa develop
its weak institutions, to save Africa from looting black on black imperialists,
to save Africa from hunger, joblessness, illiteracy, aid pandemic, lack of
water, electricity, poor education, mass failure in schools, perpetual black
outs and no succor in sight, total destruction of the Real sectors of African
economies ,epileptic infrastructures, bad roads, looting of all the treasuries
of African countries, prostitution, canal democratic dispensations, tribalism,
illiteracy, terrorism , kidnapping etc.
and that is why we are calling for REPARATION not as an act of affrontation but
as a genuine plea of a needy brethren in quagmires, death, grief and shame….
