Anambra 2017: Democratic Alternative storm Anambra as H.E Prince frank ukonga give party flag to Comrade Nwibe who emerges candidate of DA in the Anambra governorship polls Primaries
It was jubilation yesterday in Awka when Comrade Emmanuel Nwibe emerged the standard bearer of Democratic Alternative Party, DA, for the November 18 Governorship Election in Anambra State.
Comrade Emmanuel Nwibe, a Psychologist hails from Isuaniocha in Awka North Local Government Area of the state.
He becomes the first candidate from the Central Senatorial Zone of the state that will be challenging the incumbent governor, Chief Willie Obiano.
At a state congress and primary election organised by the party under the supervision of INEC officials, comrade Nwibe emerged through a consensus vote.
Two other aspirants had withdrew their aspirations to contest few hours before the primary, saying they believe in the capabilities of Comrade Nwibe.
The National Chairman of Democratic Alternative, Prince Frank Ukonga, who chaired the five man primary election committee commended party delegates and the aspirants for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner as well as considering the overall interest of the party before their personal gains.
Prince Ukonga charged the flag bearer to ensure that he carried along every member of the great party and work hard to capture the governorship seat come November 18th through the polls.
He said the party decided d to conduct the primary alongside the state Congress where Chief Edward Okoye was ratified as the substantive chairman of the party in the state with other members of the executives emerging.
The Chairman of DA in the state, Chief Edward Okoye, while speaking with journalists described the party in the state as the only one with internal democracy and expressed the hope that they will emerge victorious come November
